A vintage salt glazed stoneware pot with wooden lid.

Salt glaze is a ceramic glaze that gives pottery a distinctive orange peel texture and crater-like markings

The pot features two curved handles fixed to each side and is stamped by the maker, Errington Reay & Co Ltd near the base.

ERRINGTON REAY & CO Ltd were originally founded in Northumberland in 1878 and still exist today however they now mainly manufacture high quality stoneware planters for the garden.

A versatile storage piece for the kitchen that would be perfect for storing dried foods such as pasta or for holding utensils.

Height 26 cm, diameter 23.5 cm

In good vintage condition with wear and tear appropriate for age which may include crazing to the glaze. The wooden lid has a split in it as shown in the photographs
