An antique French serpentine chest of drawers or commode in walnut, dating from the 19th century, featuring four drawers fitted with original brass handles.

• Louis XV style serpentine front
• Four graduating, full-width drawers
• Ornate brass hardware with matching escutcheons
• Shaped apron with cabriole legs

This beautiful chest features a serpentine front, a style influenced by 18th-century Rococo design. Its four large drawers graduate in depth, providing plenty of room for storage, each fitted with an ornate set of brass handles and matching escutcheons. The whole piece is raised on decorative cabriole legs with a nicely shaped lower apron.

A useful storage piece, ideal for storing clothes and linens in a bedroom, or for use as a sideboard in a living room or hallway

Condition

In good antique condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use to include knocks, scuffs and age related splits. Displays signs of historic woodworm throughout which is no longer active - all items are treated for woodworm upon entry to our showrooms. Wood loss to some of the carving and drawer edges and one handle is missing part of its brass flourish (third drawer, left handle)

Our showroom in Oswestry, Shropshire is open by appointment only. If you'd like to arrange a viewing, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate you.

Yes — we offer free delivery within mainland UK on all orders. For Highlands, Islands, Northern Ireland or overseas shipping, please contact us before purchasing.
