An antique pine chest of drawers from the early 20th century featuring four drawers and a simple plinth base.

• Short upstand running along the back top edge

This early 20th-century pine chest features a two over two drawer configuration, with two shorter drawers above and two deeper drawers below, each fitted with a pair of brass swan neck handles. A low upstand runs along the back edge of the top - a feature designed to stop items falling down the back of the chest, and the whole piece sits on a simple plinth base.

A practical chest that works well on a landing for linen and towels, or in a bedroom for clothing and everyday storage.

Width 86 cm x Depth 47 cm x Height 85 cm (including upstand)

Condition

In good antique condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use to include age related knocks and scuffs. May display signs of historic woodworm which is no longer active and will have been retreated as a precaution. Overtime, some of the handles have been replaced and are therefore mismatched but they remain appropriate for the piece's age and style. There is woodloss to the top right hand corner of the upstand as shown in photos.
