Early 20th Century Continental Stick Bench

SKU: JC01285

A characterful continental pine bench with original painted surface and flip-back design.

Likely of Romanian origin, this early 20th-century piece features a slatted backrest that flips to reverse seating direction — traditionally used in churches to face either altar or font.

Made in solid pine with worn green paintwork, splayed stick legs and pegged joints.

A good, honest example of vernacular furniture with functional simplicity.
