19th Century Antique French Storage Chest

An antique pine storage chest from 19th Century rural France.

Featuring a hinged lid that opens to reveal internal storage, it would have originally been used as a "Grain Bin" for keeping grain dry.

The chest retains its original washed-out cream paint finish, beautifully sealed with clear wax to protect and enhance its existing patina.

Width 76.5 cm x Depth 47.5 cm x Height 74.5 cm

In lovely condition with wear and tear appropriate for age and use. Displays signs of historic woodworm which is no longer active and has been retreated as a precaution. The lowest back board has been replaced, there is also a split in the wood on the top left hand side just under where the lid sits.
