A rare and beautifully preserved wedding keepsake, framed in a decorative gilt surround.

This early 20th-century German shadow box commemorates the marriage of Robert Keusch and Sophie Otter on 14th November 1908.

At its centre sits a wedding portrait encircled by the bride's delicate bridal crown and veil, decorated with  wax flowers.

Below, an inscription records the names and date in faded German script.

A highly decorative and unusual piece, rich in sentiment and symbolic detail.
